Why it matters

What life insurance does for veterans

If you served, you may already have some coverage through the VA or a policy you carried on active duty. That can be a great foundation — but it does not always follow you the way you would expect, and the amount may be smaller than your family would actually need to stay in their home and keep their footing.

Private life insurance is one more layer you control. It is not tied to your service status, it can be sized to your family’s real obligations, and it stays in force as long as you keep it. We help veterans look at the whole picture and place coverage that fits — without pressure, and without pretending one option is right for everyone.

The case for owning your coverage

Why veterans look at private coverage

Coverage you control

A private policy is not tied to your service status or a specific job, so it stays with you and your family on your terms.

Fill the gaps

Government and group coverage can be limited in amount or end when you separate. Private coverage can be sized to your family’s real needs.

Protect the home

Coverage timed to a mortgage or your income-earning years helps keep your family in their home if the unexpected happens.

Leave a legacy

Permanent options can build value over time and pass something on — part of strength you can pass on to the next generation.

Questions we hear

Veterans life insurance FAQ

Can I have private life insurance and VA or military coverage at the same time?

Yes. Private life insurance is separate from any benefits you have through the VA or your time in service. Many veterans keep their existing coverage and add a private policy to reach the total amount their family would actually need. We can help you look at both together.

Is United Eagles Financial affiliated with the VA or the military?

No. We are an independent life insurance agency. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, or any government agency. We simply help veterans compare and place private coverage.

Does my time in service affect whether I can get coverage?

Eligibility, features, and pricing are set by the insurance carriers and depend on factors like age, health, and the type of policy — not your veteran status by itself. We help you find options that fit your situation. Final approval is always subject to the carrier’s underwriting.

How much coverage do I need?

It depends on your income, debts like a mortgage, and what you want to leave your family. A common starting point is enough to replace your income for several years and pay off major debts. We will walk through it with you — there is no one-size-fits-all answer.
